ONE·R Cheongdam | The First Sky Garage in Korea
Wöhr Multiparker 720+LAT
Turning a parking "need" into a parking "want"
Architects: Heerim
ONE·R is located in Cheongdam-dong, Korea’s most coveted address. An ultra-premium residential project designed by Heerim Architects & Planners, one of Korea’s most respected architecture firms.
Knowing this market intimately, Heerim had already discerned its two deepest desires. The first is an uninterrupted view of the Han River through the whole day and into the night. The second is a car. This demographic usually owns a beautiful car, a machine encapsulating the status of one’s success. After a meeting with CarCram, Heerim was able to accomplish both in one floor plan. An all-day view of the Han and the ability to park their car on their apartment floor in a display case.
CarCram created a parking system from Wöhr’s(our preferred partner & German manufacturer of parking systems) Multiparker 720 and paired it with a LAT (longitudinal pick-up system). The combined system automatically transports each vehicle to its own private garage on the resident’s floor. The supercar goes from an item of daily life to an object on display, a piece in a private gallery.
This system became the defining feature that sets ONE·R Cheongdam apart, offering an experience possible only within this building. Korea’s first Sky Garage. It was designed and integrated from Heerim’s early concept and design phase, closely coordinated with structural planning and core layout to ensure the most reliable and premium outcome.
Of course, the path was not without challenges. Bringing a successfully designed and functional parking system from Germany into the Korean market required meeting domestic safety certification standards and a range of related regulations, demanding careful work to bridge the gap between an overseas manufacturer’s technology and Korea’s local approval system. CarCram worked through these challenges one by one, and ultimately brought a new parking concept to life in one of the most luxurious residential towers in Seoul – a city that draws attention from around the world.
CarCram transforms parking from infrastructure that is a compliance “need” into a lifestyle feature people genuinely “want”.
